About

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in West Hartford, CT. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of New Hampshire with a focus in Women’s Studies, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut.

I have practiced in community mental health and private practice settings, treating a wide range of mental health and substance use issues. My treatment area of focus includes anxiety, depression, trauma, perinatal mental healthcare, self esteem, and relationship issues.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing

EMDR is a therapy designed to help you process difficult or traumatic experiences so they no longer feel as overwhelming in the present. It works by allowing your brain to reprocess these memories, reducing their emotional intensity and helping you regain a sense of control.

When we go through something really overwhelming, our brain can have a hard time processing it — almost like the memory gets frozen in time and keeps popping up in ways that feel confusing or intense. EMDR helps your brain finish what it didn’t get to do before; sort through the experience, understand it better, and store it in a way that feels less intense and more manageable. Over time, this makes space for more helpful, grounded beliefs about yourself, your experiences, and the world around you.

During EMDR sessions, we’ll focus on specific distressing memories while using bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to engage both sides of your brain. This process helps your mind integrate the memory in a way that reduces emotional overwhelm and decreases sensitivity to triggers over time.

One of the unique aspects of EMDR is that it doesn’t require talking in detail about every painful experience. Instead, it offers a structured, gentle, and effective way to move through emotional challenges at a pace that feels right for you.

Perinatal Mental Health Support

Pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period can bring both joy and challenges. It’s normal to experience a wide range of emotions during these transitions. From anxiety and depression to stress or trauma, emotional struggles are common at every stage. Prioritizing your mental health is just as important as your physical health, and seeking support can help you navigate this transformative time with resilience and confidence.

I provide compassionate, evidence-based support for the emotional complexities of pregnancy and the postpartum period. My goal is to create a space where you can prioritize your well-being, deepen your understanding and awareness of self, and embrace this life chapter with resilience and confidence.

How I Can Help:

  • Individual Therapy – Work through anxiety, depression, birth trauma, intrusive thoughts, postpartum rage, sleep struggles, or relationship challenges with care and understanding.

  • Prenatal Support – Ease fears around childbirth, manage anxiety, and approach this transition with clarity and confidence.

  • Postpartum Support – Adjust to life after birth, navigate intense emotions, and reconnect with yourself while finding your footing

Why It Matters:
This part of life can bring so many changes—physically, emotionally, and in your sense of self. Having support can help you feel grounded, at peace, and more like yourself as you move through this transformation.

Ready to Start?
You don’t have to figure this out alone. I’m here to offer a warm, supportive environment where you can openly explore your feelings and reconnect with your own innate strength and resilience.
